Slim Aarons (American, 1916–2006)
Slim Aarons was one of the most celebrated photographers of the 20th century, renowned for his portraits of high society, Hollywood icons, and the quietly decadent world of the jet set. Born George Allen Aarons, he began his photography career while serving in the U.S. Army during World War II before going on to work for LIFE, Holiday, and Town & Country.

Through the 1950s, ’60s, and ’70s, Aarons captured “attractive people doing attractive things in attractive places,” bringing a photojournalist’s candor to scenes of glamour and leisure. His work is both an archive of elegance and an invitation to nostalgia—each image a glimpse into an era of effortless sophistication and timeless allure.
