Kelly Colchin is an artist in Austin, Texas who spent most of her career in advertising as an art director, but has always loved painting and drawing, and recently made the shift to making art full time. She usually starts a project by sketching, journaling and pulling together her thoughts. She immerses herself in the project and then steps away from an idea to let it steep before putting pen to paper. She mostly works in watercolor and she loves that it is such a quick and unforgiving medium.
